It is in volcanic Lesbos, a geopark protected by Unesco where the olive grove is found. The family Makropoulos cultivates the hundred-years-old olive trees of the „Kolovi“ variety within a rare biodiversity, using only the old natural Methode. Olive harvesting by hand is a Ritual by its self, a fest! The olives are transported within 24 hours to the olive press and grinder below 26°.
Meropi olive oil shares the high standards of production of any top line hand made product. This naturally accounts for the limited supply.The result, is a natural olive juice, gold in color, very low acidity (0.1-0.4), rich in Aromas, fruity but fine taste which is bottled unfiltered in order to maintain its nutritional and anti-oxidant elements.
It is ideal for cooking, raw salads and pastry making.
